Lyrics: michico / Music: Jennifer “JJ” Johnson, TIGER / Arrangement: FULL FORCE

A disco inspired dance song from Namie features heavy synth arrangement and a very catchy melody that never lets up. SO CRAZY’s chorus is one of the best from Namie and has a cool hook. The background for this melody has a tendency to get a bit repetitive, even with the great vocals. But, that’s disco for you. The bridge is cool, with a fun violin-like trilling up and down a scale. The rapping part is slightly reminscent of ‘Chase the Chance’, but only because it is rap. The lyrics are rather provocative at times, but overall this is a good dance song, not the best ever mind you, but good.

Lyrics: Yuriko Mori / Composition: Jan Kask, Peter Mansson, Peter Cunnah

This is techno-pop at it’s best, and not the techno-pop of Namie’s early days à la ‘Body FEELS EXIT. No, it isn’t. Here’s my original review from August 11, 2007: Shuffle. I still think that this is one of the best songs she put out in the STYLE-era and in the Top 20 of all time from her. Her voice fits this genre very well. Also, this is a cover of Australian pop star, Sophie Monk’s ‘Come My Way’ released in the same year. That’s pretty fast for someone to do a cover…

In conclusion, SO CRAZY / Come was a good single. My one triffle with it was that ‘Come’ was never given a PV. It would have probably done better, especially if listed as the first A-side. But, Namie wanted to get away from her pop roots. Still better single than Put ‘Em Up. And, on top of that, reversed her streak of declining sales.

  1. Disco?

I’ve never heard this song called disco before, but I suppose I can see it in there. Definitely more on the urban side than Shine More.

I used to be a huge Namie fan, but lost interest for awhile. When I finally decided to give her another chance, SO CRAZY was the single I bought and I’ve been hooked ever since XP

I hope this means you’ll be doing a review of STYLE soon. I’m really looking forward to it.

  2. Yeah… the single get more American (I think that’s what they mean when they say R&B) as we get away from ‘shine more’. Hey, by the way, thanks for commenting… it means a lot to have someone actually care enough to comment on something… :D…

And as matter of fact, I will review STYLE on the 26th… hope you keep liking what your seeing…
